At 3:00 p.m. Chairman O’Brien opened a Special Meeting to receive an
update from Dave Wilson, MERIT, regarding Behavioral Health Services
in Kittitas County.
Dave Wilson, MERIT gave a summary of updates since the last meeting
with the BoCC. He also announced that although they had been under
the impression that BARTH was closing, he has since learned that is
not the case and that BARTH will remain open in Ellensburg. He noted
that they are not open fulltime but do have office hours at their
location in town. He gave an update on Medicaid changes that will
be implemented on July 1, 2017. Mr. Wilson provided an update on the
assessment populations and an update on transport services for U/C
residents. He announced that they now offer childcare so when
parents are in treatment they can drop off their child and not have
that to interfere with the success of their treatment.
The Board expressed their appreciation for Mr. Wilson’s time and
expressed how beneficial they felt the updates have been.
