OCTOBER 17, 2016 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; Vice-Chairman Paul <br />Jewell & Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Julie Kjorsvik, <br />Clerk of the Board; Robin Read, Public Health Administrator and <br />Jessika Roe, Kittitas County Community Network & Coalition; Greg <br />Zempel, Prosecutor; Lisa Young, HR Director. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 9:00 a.m. Chairman O’Brien opened the Office Administration <br />meeting. <br /> <br />CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar. <br /> <br />PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County <br />Employee Personnel Action forms and vouchers. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence <br />Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week <br />ending October 14, 2016. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION LANGUAGE FOR INTERPRETERS REQUESTS COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board explained that following up from <br />a previous discussion regarding policy language addressing <br />accommodation needs for interpreters she asked the other County <br />Clerks and found that not many had a policy. Lisa Young, HR <br />Director stated that she reached out to MRSC and found there is no <br />requirement for whether or not they are registered or certified <br />interpreters. She stated that she and Julie could work with Deputy <br />Chris Horner and provide something for the BoCC to consider. Ms. <br />Kjorsvik explained that she would like to put whatever the Board <br />adopts at the bottom of each BoCC Meeting notices/Agenda. Robin <br />Read, Public Health Administrator cautioned the Board on the <br />importance of using a certified translator. She explained that if <br />the notice is too short then let the requestor know just that, that
