2016-09-15 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />THURSDAY 9:00 A.M. SEPTEMBER 15, 2016 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; Vice-Chairman, Paul <br />Jewell & Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING COG POPULATION COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 9:00 a.m. Chairman O’Brien opened a Special Meeting to discuss <br />the County’s position regarding COG population allocations. <br /> <br />Chairman O’Brien presented a spreadsheet (Kittitas County Growth <br />Allocation Tool) for the Board to discuss. There was roundtable <br />discussion amongst Board members regarding their personal concerns <br />for the projected growth of the UGA study areas. There were <br />questions regarding the formulas used or where the numbers came <br />from. Chairman O’Brien indicated that the numbers came from OFM and <br />the consultant (BERK) has compiled the formulas and done the <br />statistical work. <br /> <br />There was discussion revolving around the strategies and planning <br />the BoCC needs to consider with the upcoming Comp Plan because the <br />two issues will have impacts on each other. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jewell asked for another presentation from BERK.
