COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:40 A.M. JULY 18, 2016
Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; and Commissioner Laura
Osiadacz. Excused: Vice-Chairman Paul Jewell.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Jim Goeben, IT
Director; Lisa Young, HR Director; Andrew Drain, Application
Developer.
REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD I.T.
Jim Goeben, IT Director explained that they have published at least
3 times for the Web Developer position over the past 5-6 months and
have recently interviewed a very qualified applicant. He stated that
due to how incredibly qualified the candidate is he would like to
offer the salary to start with $4,754.00 dollars which is 82% of the
Web Developer salary scale and 25% of the Application Developer
salary scale. He explained that the position was advertised as a Web
& Application Developer. He stated that due to the position not
being filled for over 6 months he has the savings in his budget and
through salary discussions with Commissioner Jewell it looks as
though they have found the funds to continue with the proposed
salary. There was discussion on changing the title to Application
Developer after a successful 6 month probation period is complete.
Chairman O’Brien and Commissioner Osiadacz were in support of the
proposal, as well as the consideration for title change after the 6
month probation has passed.
