KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONER’S AUDITORIUM
SPECIAL MEETING
WEDNESDAY 2:30 P.M. JULY 6, 2016
Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; Vice-Chairman Paul
Jewell & Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Lisa Young, HR
Director and Jon Kaino, Executive Director of WCIF.
SPECIAL MEETING WCIF ANNUAL VISIT COMMISSIONERS
At 2:32 p.m. Chairman O’Brien opened a Special Meeting to meet with
Jon Kaino, Executive Director of WCIF.
Jon Kaino, Executive Director for the Washington Counties Insurance
Fund/Washington Counties Insurance Pool, introduced himself and gave
the Board a handout that outlined the benefits offered by WCIF. He
reviewed an insert to the handout reflecting the Counties served and
other participating employers. He stated that this year the
Executive Chair of the WCIF Board of trustee’s is Commissioner Obie
O’Brien. He stated that the expected increases for the 2017 rates
will be determined at the August Board meeting August 11 & 12, 2016.
He stressed the importance of the Live Well-Wellness Program offered
through WCIF, noting that the employees will receive a $150.00
credit applied to their deductible if the 40% participation in the
program is met then the insurance rates are at a reduced rate. He
briefly discussed the premium savings for the County with them
participating in the Live Well-Wellness Program.
The Board thanked Mr. Kaino for taking the time to meet with them
and give them updates as well as allow time for the County to
provide feedback.
