2016-06-22 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />WEDNESDAY 10:00 A.M. JUNE 22, 2016 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; Vice-Chairman Paul <br />Jewell & Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner. <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Josh Hink, Deputy Fire <br />Marshal/Interim Fire Marshal; Rich Elliott, Kittitas Valley Fire & <br />Rescue; Joe Seemiller, Kittitas Valley Fire & Rescue; and Neil <br />Caulkins, Deputy Prosecutor. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING FIRE CODE SERVICES FIRE MARSHAL <br /> <br />At 10:00 a.m. Chairman O’Brien opened a Special Meeting to consider <br />an Interlocal Agreement between Kittitas County and the Kittitas <br />County Fire Protection District #2 for Fire Code Services. <br /> <br />Chairman O’Brien said there had been a 1 page Agreement approved by <br />the Fire Commissioners, however Deputy Prosecutor Stephanie Hartung <br />suggested adding more language and then prepared a draft Interlocal <br />Agreement and Resolution. The Agreement would allow for Fire <br />District #2 to assist with Fire Code services until a Fire Marshal <br />has been hired. Fire District #2 would assist the Deputy Fire <br />Marshal with investigations, code interpretation, and variances. It <br />was noted that Josh would still be responsible for budgeting. The <br />coverage would also be used for when Josh takes vacation and sick <br />leave. Although the overtime rate is $75.00, both parties agreed <br />they would like to keep that to a minimum as much as possible. <br /> <br />Rich Elliott said he would need to take the proposed Interlocal <br />Agreement drafted by the Prosecutor’s office to the Fire <br />Commissioners for their consideration at their next meeting on July <br />14, 2016. <br /> <br />Staff was directed to submit the Resolution and Interlocal Agreement <br />on the July 19, 2016 Commissioners Agenda for their consideration. <br />Rich Elliott said he would bring back a signed document once the <br />Fire Commissioners have approved it. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:15 a.m. <br />KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> <br />Julie Kjorsvik Obie O’Brien, Chairman <br />
