COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS AUDITORIUM
SPECIAL MEETING
TUESDAY 4:00 P.M. JUNE 21, 2016
Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; Vice-Chairman Paul
Jewell; and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board and 5 members of the
Morning Rotary Club.
SPECIAL MEETING CIRCLE THE CITY TRAIL COMMISSIONERS
At 4:00 p.m. Chairman O’Brien opened a Special Meeting to
receive information and a report on Circle the City project. He
said the project is intended to improve the existing trails and
pathways and encircle the City of Ellensburg with a
comprehensive trail system.
Phil Backland explained how the project is sponsored by the
Ellensburg Morning Rotary Club and it will feature benches,
exercise equipment, and signage. Upon completion of the trail
it will be a total of approximately 13.1 miles; that of a half-
marathon.
Commissioner Jewell offered to be the contact person as there
could be grants available in the future since the County had
recently adopted a Recreational Plan. The Rotary members
thanked the Board of County Commissioners for their time and
looked forward to working with them in the future.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
