COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONER’S AUDITORIUM
SPECIAL MEETING
WEDNESDAY 10:00 A.M. JUNE 1, 2016
Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; Vice-Chairman Paul
Jewell and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Mark Cook,
Public Works Director/Interim County Engineer & Lisa Young, HR
Director/Risk Manager.
SPECIAL MEETING EXECUTIVE SESSION COMMISSIONERS
At 10:04 a.m. Chairman O’Brien opened a Special Meeting and
announced the Board would recess into an Executive Session for 20
minutes per RCW 42.30.140 (4)(a) Collective bargaining sessions with
employee organizations, including contract negotiations, grievance
meetings, and discussions relating to the interpretation or
application of a labor agreement; or (b) that portion of a meeting
during which the governing body is planning or adopting the strategy
or position to be taken by the governing body during the course of
any collective bargaining, professional negotiations, or grievance
or mediation proceedings, or reviewing the proposals made in the
negotiations or proceedings while in progress. No action was
anticipated.
At 10:24 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. No
action was taken.
At 10:24 a.m. Chairman O’Brien announced the Board would recess back
into Executive Session for 15 minutes per RCW 42.30.140 (4)(a)

or (b) that portion of a meeting during which the governing body is

At 10:39 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. No
action was taken.
At 10:39 a.m. Chairman O’Brien announced the Board would recess back
into Executive Session for 5 minutes per RCW 42.30.140 (4)(a)

At 10:44 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. Staff
was directed to continue negotiating based of the strategy
discussed.
Meeting adjourned at 10:44 a.m.
