2016-05-02 MINUTES 1
COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS AUDITORIUM
SPECIAL MEETING

MONDAY 11:30 A.M. MAY 2, 2016

Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; Vice-Chairman Paul
Jewell; and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.

Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; and 3 members of the
public.

SPECIAL MEETING SHADY BROOK COMMISSIONERS

At 11:30 a.m. Chairman O’Brien opened a Special Meeting to
consider a letter addressed to the residents of Shady Brook
Mobile Village and Rental.

Commissioner Jewell explained how there has been a lot of
misinformation printed in the newspaper, as well as on social
media. He said it was important to get accurate information out
to the residents and reviewed a proposed letter. He said the
letter reassures the residents that no decision has been made at
this time for the parks closure, but they would be provided at
least 12 months’ notice before it were to happen. Other
information included how there would be several public meetings
once the sale is final; specialists would be able to assist the
residents in accessing any and all available resources to the
residents; and how the County is committed to doing everything
they can during the time of change. He also said there would be
a Press Release going out within the next day and he would like
a copy of the letter that is in both in English and Spanish to
be posted on the County website, as well as sent to the local
newspaper.

LETTER SHADY BROOK COMMISSIONERS

Commissioner Jewell moved to approve and authorize the Board to
sign a letter to the residents of Shady Brook Mobile Village and
Rental, both in English and Spanish, as well as a Press Release.
Commissioner Osiadacz seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
