04/05/2016 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS AUDITORIUM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />TUESDAY 2:00 P.M. APRIL 5, 2016 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien and Vice-Chairman Paul <br />Jewell. (Kittitas County Commissioner District #2 – Vacant). <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Brenda Larsen, Fire <br />Marshal; Val Barschaw, Clerk; and Josh Hink, Deputy Fire Marshal. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING PERMIT FEES FIRE MARSHAL <br /> <br />At 2:00 p.m. CHAIRMAN O’BRIEN opened a Public Hearing to consider <br />amending the Fire Marshal Permit Fees. <br /> <br />BRENDA LARSEN, FIRE MARSHAL reviewed the proposed fee increases for <br />their department, noting they had not been increased since 2014 and <br />they had not been at full cost recovery. COMMISSIONER JEWELL said he <br />was not opposed to full cost recovery, but was concerned with the <br />amount of increase relating to event permits. MS. LARSEN explained <br />the differences between event permits that are required for the <br />larger for-profit events, and those who would not require obtaining <br />a permit. THERE BEING NO ONE REQUESTING TO TESTIFY, THE PUBLIC <br />PORTION OF THE HEARING WAS CLOSED. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 2016-007 PERMIT FEES FIRE MARSHAL <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER JEWELL moved to approve Ordinance No. 2016-007, <br />Amending the Fee Schedule for the Fire Marshal Permit Fees, and to <br />amend the fee schedule to reflect a change to the Event Permits from <br />$250.00 to $165.00 and to reduce the Wildland Urban Interface Permit <br />Fee from $200.00 to $175.00. CHAIRMAN O’BRIEN seconded. Motion <br />carried 2-0. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING AMEND COUNTY CODE TITLE 20 FIRE MARSHAL <br /> <br />At 2:25 p.m. CHAIRMAN O’BRIEN opened a Public Hearing to consider <br />modifying Title 20 of the Kittitas County Code to ensure consistency <br />throughout the County Code. <br /> <br />JOSH HINK, DEPUTY FIRE MARSHAL reviewed a proposed Ordinance to <br />Amend Title 20 of the Kittitas County Code. THERE BEING NO ONE <br />REQUESTING TO TESTIFY, THE PUBLIC PORTION OF THE HEARING WAS CLOSED. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
