COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM
SPECIAL MEETING
MONDAY 1:00 P.M. APRIL 4, 2016
Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien-Joined at 1:45 p.m.);
Vice-Chairman Paul Jewell. (Commissioner Dist. 2 Seat – Vacant).
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Robin Read,
Public Health Administrator; Amy Kocher, Community Health Specialist
I; Kaitlyn Reddick, Fiscal Analyst; Bruce Tabb, Elmview; Kasey
Knutson, Health Promotion Supervisor; Carole Miller Rhodes, Program
Director at EnTrust; Tom Gaulke, Chief Operations Officer-Entrust;
Daniel Ortega, Trellis; Sheri Powers, Elmview; Cheri Burry, Elmview
and Jackie Herum, MHDD Chair.
SPECIAL MEETING DD UPDATE PUBLIC WORKS
At 1:00 p.m. Vice-Chairman Jewell opened a Special Meeting to
receive an update regarding DD Services. He stated that until
Chairman O’Brien arrives, it would not be an actual Special Meeting.
He stated that they could provide updates and go over anything they
wished to discuss but that no minutes would be taken until the
Chairman arrives.
Chairman O’Brien arrived at 1:45 p.m.
Bruce Tabb, Elmview gave an overview of services that they offer. He
discussed the need for a Transit Coordinator and the importance of
transportation services in the County. Commissioner Jewell stressed
his support in having the County hire two of Elmview’s clients. He
felt the funding could be worked on by Public Health and that if
there are Union issues moving forward he will work with HR. He felt
there should be a position in Maintenance as well as at the KVEC.
There was discussion on splitting the MH/DD Board up so that MH
would be with CD and DD would be on its own.
Meeting adjourned at 2:20 p.m.
