COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:40 A.M. MARCH 21, 2016
Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien & Commissioner Gary
Berndt. Excused: Vice-Chairman Paul Jewell.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Mickey Webb,
Event Center Director
REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD EVENT CENTER
Mickey Webb, Event Center Director provided a brief update on the
electrical repairs done at the old Fair office and stated that the
quote he received was approximately $3,000.00 and has yet to get a
final bill from Bell Electric.
Mickey Webb, Event Center Director requested the Board to authorize
him to spend approximately $11,000.00 to replace the carpet in the
Manastash Room. He stated that he budgeted up to $13,000.00.
The Board authorized Mr. Webb to get official quotes for the carpet
and bring it back to the Board for consideration. Chairman O’Brien
expressed concerns with regard to additional costs this year at the
Event Center that they were unprepared for and felt that maybe the
carpet should be put off this year to use those funds and apply them
to other areas of unexpected costs.

EXECUTIVE SESSION COMMISSIONERS
At 10:05 a.m. Chairman O’Brien announced the Board would recess into
an Executive Session for 5 minutes to evaluate the qualifications of
an applicant for public employment or to review the performance of a
public employee. However, subject to RCW 42.30.140 (4), discussion
by a governing body of salaries, wages, and other conditions of
employment to be generally applied within the agency shall occur in
a meeting open to the public, and when a governing body elects to
take final action hiring, setting the salary of an individual
employee or class of employees, or discharging or disciplining an
employee, that action shall be taken in a meeting open to the
public. No action was anticipated.
At 10:10 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. No
action taken.
