2016-02-29 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />MONDAY 3:00 P.M. FEBRUARY 29, 2016 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; Vice-Chairman Paul <br />Jewell and Commissioner Gary Berndt. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Rick Weaver, <br />Comprehensive Mental Health (CMH); Dave Wilson, MERIT. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING BEHAVIORAL HEATH SERV.-UPDATE COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 3:10 p.m. Chairman O’Brien opened a Special Meeting to receive an <br />update from Rick Weaver, Comprehensive Mental Health (CMH) & Dave <br />Wilson, MERIT, regarding Behavioral Health Services in Kittitas <br />County. <br /> <br />Chairman O’Brien gave introductions and questioned how Mr. Weaver <br />and Mr. Wilson were feeling 30 days out from the April 1, 2016 <br />deadline for full integration. Commissioner Jewell questioned what <br />the County should see as far as impacts. <br /> <br />Mr. Weaver explained there should not be any impacts from a Mental <br />Health standpoint. Mr. Wilson stated that Chemical Dependency should <br />see more flexibility. He stated that the changes should be good all <br />around. <br /> <br />There was a historical discussion on Kittitas County’s Drug Court. <br />Chairman O’Brien also announced he had been approached by “STOP” as <br />they are still trying to obtain a Contract with the County. <br /> <br />There was discussion on developing a Mental Health Court, DUI Court <br />& Veterans Court, and them being similar to Drug Court. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jewell requested that they start meeting quarterly to <br />receive updates. <br /> <br />The next meeting was set for May 9, 2016. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> <br />
