COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:40 A.M. FEBRUARY 8, 2016
Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien, Vice-Chairman Paul
Jewell & Commissioner Gary Berndt.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Brett Wachsmith,
Treasurer and one member of the public.
REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD TREASURER
At 9:40 a.m. Brett Wachsmith, Treasurer presented the Board with
handouts outlining the Uncollectable Personal Property Taxes
totaling $80,989.82 plus interest of $79,813.67. He explained how
the list is compiled and why it covers years 2006-2014. He said they
have implemented steps to prevent the backlog in the future. Mr.
Wachsmith also presented & reviewed a Refund list which includes
interest per RCW 84.69.100 totaling $627,145.74. He stated that
initially the plan was to have the Board consider Resolutions today,
however he met with his Departments Prosecutor and they are still
working out a few things. He stated that he would have them before
the Board on the 2/16/16 Agenda for the Board to consider.
