Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien and Commissioner
Gary Berndt- (by phone) & Vice-Chairman Paul Jewell.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board.
SPECIAL MEETING DOE LETTER-SMP UPDATE COMMISSIONERS
At 10:34 a.m. Chairman O’Brien opened a Special Meeting to
consider Board signature on a letter to Maia Bellon, DOE
Director regarding Kittitas County’s Comprehensive Shoreline
Master Program (SMP) Update.
Commissioner Jewell explained that Mark Charlton and Kevin
Eslinger met with him and asked for more time to understand the
SMP Update. He suggested sending DOE a letter requesting an
extension by directing Staff (CDS) to prepare the letter for the
Board to consider would be acceptable and noted that he
supported the request. Chairman O’Brien agreed, as did
Commissioner Berndt.
OTHER BUSINESS
Commissioner Jewell provided a Proclamation he received from
FCCLA and asked if the Board was interested in considering the
Proclamation at the first Agenda in February. Chairman O’Brien
and Commissioner Berndt were in support of the Proclamation.
Staff was asked to place on the February 2, 2016 Agenda.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:38 a.m.
