01/22/2013 MINUTES 1
COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
SPECIAL MEETING

TUESDAY 10:00 A.M. JANUARY 22, 2013

Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; Vice-Chairman Paul
Jewell; & Commissioner Gary Berndt.

Others: Mandy Robinson, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Paul Sander,
Deputy Prosecutor.

SPECIAL MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD PROSECUTOR

Paul Sander, Deputy Prosecutor presented a budget amendment for a
new Coroner radio required by Kittcom. He explained that Kittcom has
made updates to their communication equipment and the radio in the
Coroner car is outdated and will no longer communicate with Kittcom
and/or Law Enforcement. He stated that the portable radio the
Prosecutor’s Office is looking at purchasing is exactly the same as
Law Enforcement uses and with the fact that it is portable, it will
allow it to be used out in the field, as well as on scene without
having to physically be in the Coroner car. He stated that the
Prosecutor’s office was not notified that the current radio would no
longer work until the last part of December, and that is why it was
not included in their expense budget for 2013. He stated that
currently the cost to have the radio programed is approximately
$50.00.

Commissioner Jewell moved to authorize a budget amendment of $875.00
to purchase an updated Coroner radio. Commissioner Berndt seconded.
Motion carried 3-0.

Commissioner O’Brien expressed concern for County vehicles lacking
decals and felt that was something that was also needed for the
Coroner car.

Meeting adjourned at 10:10 a.m.

KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

Mandy Robinson Obie O’Brien, Chairman
