2010-02-03 MINUTES <br /> <br /> COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM SPECIAL MEETING WEDNESDAY 1:30 P.M. FEBRUARY 3, 2010 <br />Board members present: Chairman Mark McClain; Vice-Chairman Paul <br />Jewell and Commissioner Alan Crankovich. <br /> <br />Others: Catherine Dunn, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Patti Johnson, <br />Solid Waste Director; Matt Anderson, Event Center Program Director <br />and Stephanie Happold, Deputy Prosecutor. <br /> <br /> GRANT AGREEMENT COORDINATED PREVENTION GRANT SOLID WASTE <br />At 1:30 p.m. Chairman McClain opened the special meeting to consider <br />the Application for Coordinated Prevention Grant Agreement between <br />WA ST Department of Ecology and Kittitas County Solid Waste. <br /> Solid Waste Director Patti Johnson explained that the grant would be <br />from the State Building Construction Account for $121,287 with a <br />County share of $30,322, and would focus on removing toxic <br />substances from the solid waste stream and fund the Waste Reduction <br />and Recycling Programs. <br /> Deputy Prosecutor Stephanie Happold said she would sign to the <br />legality of the grant, but not as to form as there were parts of the <br />grant she did not feel comfortable with. Chairman McClain asked if <br />there was a significant risk with the items she was uncomfortable <br />with, and she replied that there was not a significant risk. <br /> Vice-Chairman Jewell moved to approve the Chairman’s signature on <br />the coordinated Prevention Grant Agreement with the WA ST Department <br />of Ecology in the amount of $121,287 grant application. Commissioner Crankovich seconded the motion. Motion carried, 3-0. <br /> UPDATE JAIL PROJECT UPDATE AND DIRECTION COMMISSIONERS <br /> Chairman McClain explained the history of the jail projects. He <br />explained that the original intent was for one project to do the <br />jail repairs and add some additional beds. They have morphed into <br />two projects with the repairs as one, and the additional beds as <br />another. <br /> <br />
