04/08/2019 MINUTES 1 COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS AUDITORIUM SPECIAL MEETING MONDAY 3:30 P.M. APRIL 08, 2019 Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett Wachsmith and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Mark Cook, Public Works Director/Interim Engineer; Elizabeth Torrey, WDFW; Nicky Pasi, Mountains to Sound Greenway; Betsy Robblee, WWRC – Outreach & Policy Manager & Marc Eylar, PLAC Member. SPECIAL MEETING WA WILDLIFE RECREATION COMMISSION COMMISSIONERS At 3:30 p.m. CHAIRMAN WRIGHT opened a Special Meeting with Betsy Robblee, Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition (WWRC). He said the meeting was to receive information about existing Statewide opportunities that may assist and increase entities efforts in obtaining grant funding for certain projects which fit into certain categories. BETSY ROBBLEE, WWRC reviewed the organization’s program, roles, and information on existing Statewide grant opportunities for recreation improvements and how they could assist entities. The Washington Wildlife Recreation Program (WWRP) is the State’s premier conservation and recreation program which provides matching funds to create new local and State parks, protect wildlife habitat and preserve working lands. She reviewed some of the proposed projects: Palouse to Cascade – E-burg to Renslow Surfacing; Quilomene Wildlife Area Restoration & Funded: Heart of the Cascades – Critical Habitat; Rader Road Ranch – Farmland Preservation (WWRP) projects in Kittitas County. There was a roundtable discussion and clarifying questions were asked. The Board thanked Ms. Robblee for coming and sharing potential opportunities.
