Law & Justice Study Session Minutes <br />April 3, 2019 <br />Commissioners Auditorium <br />Meeting called to order at 0801 a.m. <br />Present: Commissioner Brett Wachsmith, Commissioner Cory Wright, Undersheriff Myers, Sheriff Gene <br />Dana, Sue Higginbotham with Auditor's Office and Lisa Young with Human Resource. <br />Undersheriff Myers requested the Board of County Commissioners to direct staff to prepare a Resolution and <br />ballot measure for consideration on the next Agenda Session authorizing the continued maintenance of the <br />3/1 Otis of 1% County Sales and Use Tax for Criminal Justice — Per Undersheriff Myers the Law and Justice <br />voted to run the 3/1 Otll's without a sunset clause due in 2021. In 2020 we would like to run this in August <br />and direct staff to prepare a Resolution, that is due to the Auditor by May 10, 2019 for the August 2019 <br />ballot. The 3/1 Oths covers Criminal Justice to get more Law Enforcement, Juvenile, Prosecutor and Clerks <br />are all impacted. Sue commented that she would pull the last results. Action — Board approved to move <br />forward. <br />Request surplus SAR Equipment revenue to be dedicated back into SAR Budget - Board approval to place <br />funding back in the SAR Program. Action —Board approved. <br />Other Business — Discussion on maybe involving Maintenance and others to set up a committee for a <br />Memorial area near the Couthouse/Correction Center.
