At 1:31 pm Chairman Cory Wright opened the Public Works Study Session.
REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION TO AWARD THE BID FOR HERBICIDE
APPLICATION FOR THE YEARS 2019 - 2022 AND AUTHORIZE THE PUBLIC WORKS
DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE SAME
Candie Leader stated that Public Works went out for sealed bids for
herbicide application to approximately eight hundred (800) shoulder
miles of county road. Candie Leader continued that bids were opened
on April 4, 2019 at 2:00 pm and two (2) bids were received. Candie
Leader added that Public Works is recommending the low bid of Woodland
Resource Services for award. Candie Leader stated that this is a
multi-year contract and Public Works will be supplying the chemicals
for application. Chairman Cory Wright called for a motion to approve
Resolution 2019-073 to Award the Bid for Herbicide Application for the
Years 2019 - 2022 and Authorize the Public Works Director to Execute
Same. Vice -Chairman Brett Wachsmith made a motion to approve
Resolution 2019-073 with Commissioner Laura Osiadacz seconding the
motion. Motion passed.
Meeting adjourned at 1:35 pm.

RESOLUTION NO. 32Lq - 073
TO AWARD THE BID FOR
HERBICIDE APPLICATION FOR THE YEARS 2019 - 2022
AND AUTHORIZE THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE SAME
WHEREAS: A Notice of Call for Bids was approved and signed on March 19, 2019 for
Herbicide Application for the Years 2019 - 2022; and
WHEREAS: Sealed bids were opened publicly on April 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Kittitas
County Public Works; and
WHEREAS: Two (2) bids were received for the prescribed work. The Director of
Public Works recommends the lowest responsive bid from Woodland
Resource Services Inc. be accepted; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in
the best interest of the public, does hereby award the bid for Herbicide
Application for the Years 2019 — 2022 to Woodland Resource Services,
Inc. for the application of herbicide to approximately eight hundred (800)
shoulder miles of roadway.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director for the Department of Public Works is
authorized to sign the contract documents upon such terms and conditions
specified in the Proposal submitted by said bidder(s).

STUDY SESSION DATE: April 22, 2019
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Award the
Bid for Herbicide Application for the Years
2019-2022 and Authorize the Public Works
Director to Execute Same
BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Public Works went out to bid for
the Application of Herbicide on approximately
eight hundred (800) shoulder miles of roadway
in accordance with specifications.
INTERACTION:
Bids were opened on April 4, 2019, at 2:00
p.m. Two (2) bids were received.
Public Works is recommending awarding the
responsive bid to Woodland Resource
Services, Inc. at twenty nine dollars ($29) per
mile applied. Public Works will be supplying
the herbicide for application.
Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Move to approve the Resolution to Award the
bid for Herbicide Application for the Years 2019
— 2022 and Authorize the Public Works
Director to Execute Same.
HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works
