COMMISSIONERS’ MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />HR STUDY SESSION <br /> <br />MONDAY 1:00 PM 4/15/2019 <br /> <br />Board members present: Cory Wright, Brett Wachsmith, Laura Osiadacz <br />Others: Patti Johnson, Lisa Young, Jeanne Killgore <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 1:00 PM. <br />DISCUSSION/DECISION – FIRST AND LAST BOUNDARY LINE ADJUSTMENT <br />Solid Waste Director Johnson reported that the First and Last Chance Tavern has requested a letter <br />outlining the County’s intention to negotiate a new lease which would enable them to extend their <br />tavern’s temporary liquor license. The Board approved of Director Johnson drafting and sending a letter <br />to the First and Last Chance Tavern indicating the County’s plan to enter into negotiations for a new <br />lease. Director Johnson will also contact Accolade Property Management about the lease process. <br />DISCUSSION/DECISION – EAP TRAINING <br />HR Director Young notified the Board that the County’s EAP provider, First Choice Health, offers EAP <br />training opportunities for supervisors and employees. Director Young requested the Board’s feedback <br />as to whether these EAP trainings should be mandatory for supervisors, Department Heads and Elected <br />Officials. Commissioner Wachsmith expressed interest in making the training mandatory for supervisors <br />and Department Heads, and strongly recommended for Elected Officials. Commissioner Wachsmith <br />agreed. Director Young has the training scheduled for May 8 after the Management Team meeting. <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br />Director Young notified the Board of a pending Memorandum of Understanding with the Uniformed <br />Corrections Union. She will bring the MOU to her next HR Study Session. <br />The Commissioners entered executive session at 1:13 PM to discuss an EEOC charge against the County. <br />Anticipated length: 5 minutes; anticipated action: none. At 1:18 PM the Commission extended the <br />executive session for an additional five minutes. The Commission exited executive session at 1:23 PM <br />with no action taken.
