Meeting was called to order at 1:30 pm
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE
Director Carlson provided an update to the Board of County
Commissioner regarding the 2037 Comprehensive Plan. The plan
was due June 30, 2018 however, Kittitas County qualified for a
one year extension. Director Carlson briefed the board with some
of the changes of the comprehensive plan. Some of which include;
- Vision statement
- Current population & employment
- Transportation
- GPOs (Goals, Principals, and Objective)
REQUEST TO SET PUBLIC HEARING FOR 2017-2037 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
PERIODIC UPDATE
Director Carlson requested to set a public hearing June 3rd at
6:00pm in the BOCC Auditorium for consideration of draft 2017-
2037 Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update as required by RCW
36.370A. Commissioner Wachsmith motioned to set public hearing
for consideration of draft 2017-2037 Comprehensive Plan Periodic
Update. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded the motion and the motion
passed 3-0.

AGENDA DATE: May 13, 2019
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Set Public Hearing for 2017-2037 Comprehensive Plan Periodic
Update
BACKGROUND: CDS staff is requesting to set a public hearing on June 3rd at 6:00pm in the BOCC
Auditorium for consideration of draft 2017-2037 Comprehensive Plan Periodic
Update as required by RCW 36.370A. This update process has been ongoing since
the end of 2015 and the County is currently accepting public comments. The
Planning Commission Public Hearing will be held on May 14th at 6:00pm in the
BOCC Auditorium and public testimony will be accepted.
The Kittitas County Planning Commission will make a recommendation to the Board
of County Commissioners on the draft comprehensive plan. The most current draft
documents can be viewed at the CDS office or website:

Public hearing notice will be upload through Camas once the BOCC approves the
hearing date.
