COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
SPECIAL MEETING
THURSDAY 11:30 A.M. MAY 30, 2019
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett
Wachsmith & Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Bruce Tabb, Elmview; Peggy
Morache, Executive Director of FISH; Jeff Duncan, Director of Operations
for FISH; and Mark Cook, Public Works Director/Interim Engineer.
SPECIAL MEETING ELMVIEW BUILDING LEASE COMMISSIONERS
At 11:30 a.m. Chairman Wright opened a Special Meeting to obtain an
update and discuss Elmview’s building Lease.
Mark Cook, Public Works Director/Interim Engineer explained how he had
reached out to Bruce Tabb of Elmview to discuss their current building
lease and needs. Elview’s plan is to move out and relocate to an office
at the Taylor Richardson building so they are able to have their Staff
together in one office. Mr. Tabb said he should be completely out of the
building by the middle of July. Mr. Cook provided suggestions on ways of
terminating the lease with Elview, allowing them to stay until they are
all the way out, and enter into another lease with FISH so they could
use the facility and be responsible for the liability. There was
discussion on public transportation out to the facility.
Mr. Tabb said Elmview would be comfortable making the facility available
to FISH this Saturday and have the County create and provide documents
for a new lease, addendum, etc. by the end of next week.
Ms. Morache said FISH would be open for 2 hours a day. Mr. Tabb said it
is a permitted use on the zone and putting a warehouse where they
currently exist.
Ms. Morache will obtain information on contributions for improvement and
Mr. Cook will work on an addendum to the Lease Agreement. In order to
save time, the Chair may have to sign the documents and then have it
ratified on the next Public Works Department Study Session.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:56 a.m.
