KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
SPECIAL MEETING
MONDAY 10:30 A.M. JUNE 10, 2019
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett
Wachsmith and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Greg Zempel,
Prosecuting Attorney.
SPECIAL MEETING REVIEW OF CIVIL SURVEY COMMISSIONERS
At 10:30 a.m. Chairman Wright opened a Special Meeting with Greg
Zempel, County Prosecutor to review and discuss the results from the
BoCC’s feedback from the recent Civil Survey.
Greg Zempel, Prosecutor gave a general overview of the feedback
received. He also discussed some productive brainstorming sessions
he has had with Department Heads who are willing to contribute
financially in order to have an additional Prosecutor on Staff. He
provided a brief overview of how they currently determine their
level of involvement due to Staffing levels.
The Board and Mr. Zempel discussed mutual desired outcomes moving
forward as well as expectations. Mr. Zempel expressed his
frustrations regarding County salaries and reminded them of the
importance of getting that fixed at the County so they can recruit
qualified folks.
The Board thanked Mr. Zempel for making time to discuss with them
the survey results.
The meeting was adjourned 11:10 a.m.
