COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM SPECIAL MEETING THURSDAY 8:00 A.M. JUNE 20, 2019
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett
Wachsmith and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board and Mandy Buchholz, Deputy
Clerk of the Board II.
SPECIAL MEETING BUDGET PRIORITIES COMMISSIONERS
At 8:00 a.m. Chairman Wright opened a Special Meeting to discuss the
2020 Commissioners Office priorities & budget.
The Board reviewed information for the 2019 Budget Retreat relating to
the 2020 Commissioner’s office budget. They indicated their top
departmental budget priority was travel, training, and minor office
furniture. Both travel and training will most likely need to be
increased and would come from the General Fund. There was discussion on
priorities beyond 2020 that included creating a County Administrator
position and Budget Director.
OTHER BUSINESS:
Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board announced that Debbie Myers, Board
Clerk has turned in her resignation and her last day of employment with
Kittitas County will be on July 18, 2019. She asked for feedback on
increasing the position from 30 to 40 hours a week and changing the
title from Board Clerk to Deputy Clerk I. The Board gave their support
on increasing the position from 30 to 40 hours a week, to change the
title while making sure the job description is accurate and to advertise
the position as soon as possible.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:58 a.m.
