KITTITAS COUNTY <br />EC STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM,205 WEST 5TH ROOM 108 -ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />WEDNESDAY 10:00 AM June 12,2019 <br />Board members present:Chairman Cory Wright;Vice-Chairman Brett <br />Wachsmith;and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz <br />Others:Kady Porterfield Event Center Director;Lacie Dawson <br />Event Center Program Manager;Megan Meeks Ellensburg Rodeo <br />General Manager <br />At 10:00 a.m.Chairman Wright opened meeting to discuss Event <br />Center business. <br />General Event and Rental updates:Kady discussed the <br />complimentary usage of the facility by Kittitas County and 4H <br />year to date.Per Kady,county total is higher than normal due <br />to Behind the Badge and Commissioners temporary use of facility. <br />Kady discussed Cascade Cow Cutters concerns that their bill for <br />sand delivery was increased due to delays in regard to the Bloom <br />construction and the construction crews not vacating facility <br />when scheduled.Kady will further discuss with representatives <br />from Cascade Cow Cutters and report back. <br />Kady discussed sending rodeo arena dirt sample out for quality <br />evaluation,as was done in 2016.Commissioner Wachsmith brought <br />up use of an anti-clump spray that was used during rodeo.Kady <br />to check cost of spray. <br />Self Promoted Events Business:Kady stated that ChillAxle is <br />going well,lots of community sponsors. <br />Kady stated that she has been working on an MOU with KVFR and <br />EMS in coordination of Patriot Night event.EMS will charge <br />$105/hr to be on-site during event.Rodeo will allow use of <br />their lot for the fireworks show.Commissioner Wright asked <br />about possible line of site issues with fireworks show.Per <br />Kady,will not be an issue due to new location at rodeo lot. <br />Discussion of providing $5.00 military discount (active and <br />retired)for concert tickets.Kady will work on PSA explaining <br />precautions being taken and how EC is working to mitigate any <br />2019-06-12 MINUTES 1
