COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONER’S AUDITORIUM SPECIAL MEETING TUESDAY 10:30 A.M. JULY 2, 2019
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett
Wachsmith; and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board and Mark Cook, Public
Works Director/Interim Engineer.
SPECIAL MEETING CHANGE ORDER PUBLIC WORKS
At 10:30 a.m. Chairman Wright opened a Special Meeting to discuss a
Change Order for the Manastash Bridge Project.
Mark Cook, Public Works Director/Interim Engineer provided
information on Public Works Construction Contract Change Order
process. He reviewed a proposed Change order requested by Belsaas
and Smith and recommended denial of it as the County Engineer.
The Board asked Staff questions and for clarification of the
proposed Change Order.
Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve the Change Order for the
Manastash Bridge Project, as presented. Commissioner Wachsmith
seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
Commissioner Osiadacz felt it was not an easy decision to make and
would not be supporting it if there were multiple bidders on the
project. Chairman Wright said people need to be treated with respect
and wanted Public Works Staff to know the Board will back them up.
