AUGUST 5, 2019

Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright & Commissioner Laura
Osiadacz. Excused: Vice-Chair Brett Wachsmith.

Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Kady
Porterfield, KVEC Director and Patti Johnson, Solid Waste
Director/Project Manager.

REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD EVENT CENTER

Kady Porterfield, KVEC Director and Patti Johnson, Solid Waste
Director/Project Manager asked the Board to clarify expectations for
the Department of Commerce Grant they received. Ms. Porterfield
stated that she reached out and matching funds are not needed.

The Board discussed different options for funding project around the
Event Center and asked what Staff saw as a priority. Staff indicated
that their order of priority based off of user feedback and keeping
costs in mind would be to 1.) demo/teardown the Swine Barn & the
Colockum Barn as well as the ground prep; and 2.) heating over the
bleachers at Bloom but not for the whole building, and last priority
due to cost would be the footing that needs to be done but Staff
would propose when the ground is done a special mat is purchased to
protect the ground when other events are their using the facility.

The Board supported Staff’s recommendations and suggested that they
get updated costs and develop a plan to present to the Fair Board &
4-H Representatives regarding the demo of Swine Barn & the Colockum
Barn.

Meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m.

KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

Mandy Buchholz Cory Wright, Chairman
