COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:00 A.M. AUGUST 12, 2019
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright & Vice Chairman Brett
Wachsmith. Excused: Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Julie
Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board & Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the
Board I.
REGULAR MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wright opened the Office Administration
meeting.
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County
Employee Personnel Action forms and vouchers.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence
Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week
ending August 9, 2019.
REQUEST DEBBIE MYERS - ASSISTANCE COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Wachsmith moved to authorize staff to bring in Debbie
Myers (former Board Clerk/Receptionist) back for up to 40 hours to
train Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk I the duties of the Board of
Equalization, Homelessness & Affordable Housing Committee and the
Lodging Tax Advisory Committee. Chairman Wright seconded. Motion
carried 2-0.
DISCUSSION SENATE VIDEO REMOTE TESTIMONY PROGRAM COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Wright shared an e-mail regarding Washington State
Senate Video Remote Testimony Program. He stated that if the County
has the bandwidth he would like to see Kittitas County participate
in the program. Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board stated that she
hadn’t had a chance to see what’s involved and what type of time

commitment it would be but that with Ms. Crouch coming on fulltime
possibly that those meetings could be added to her duties.
Commissioner Wright stated he would get the materials to Julie for
additional review and that he would do some more research but for
now wanted to see if the Board was supportive. Commissioner
Wachsmith stated that he was in support but the additional details
would be appreciated.
RATIFY LETTER TO DNR RE: FOREST LEGACY PROGRAM COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Wachsmith moved to ratify Board Signature on a letter
to Julie Armbruster, WA State Dept. of Natural Resources Re: Forest
legacy Program Proposal: Cabin Creek Forest Legacy Project. Chairman
Wright seconded. Motion carried 2-0.
DISCUSSION FACEBOOK WEEKLY POSTS COMMISSIONERS

OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES
Each Commissioner may use this time to brief the Board on varying
topics and discussions they independently had throughout the
previous week.
