COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM
SPECIAL MEETING
TUESDAY 1:30 P.M. OCTOBER 22, 2019
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett
Wachsmith and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Amy McGuffin,
Chamber CEO.
SPECIAL MEETING CHAMBER OF COMMERCE COMMISSIONERS
At 1:30 p.m. Chairman Wright opened a Special Meeting to receive a
quarterly update from Chamber CEO Amy McGuffin.
Amy McGuffin, CEO of the Chamber provided talking points and gave
reports on the Chamber Rep. (Brian Lenz) on the Airport Advisory
Board. She reviewed the Chamber’s Stakeholders Committee and the
make-up of it. She asked if the Board would like to be on it or
appoint a County Staff member. She reviewed the Tourism Committee
Rep. (Steve Townsend) and the Economic Development Committee
Representatives (Kirk Holmes, Linda Schactler, John Sinclair, Phil
Kelleher and Mitchell Long). She shared a new opportunity coming up
for them to have a Small Business Development Center (SBDC), with a
full time Agent that will be located in the Upper County.
Ms. McGuffin questioned if the Board wanted to rotate members on the
Government Affairs monthly meeting. Staff was directed to add
Chairman Wright to the invite and he and Commissioner Wachsmith
would alternate who will represent at the monthly meeting during
their office admin meeting.
The Board thanked Ms. McGuffin for the update.
