12/10/2019 MINUTES 1 <br /> <br /> <br /> COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM SPECIAL MEETING TUESDAY 3:30 P.M. DECEMBER 10, 2019 <br />Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett <br />Wachsmith and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. <br /> <br />Others: Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the Board I. Via conference call: <br />Mark Lindbaugh, Heidi Schott, and Kristy Moore of The Ferguson Group. <br /> SPECIAL MEETING THE FERGUSON GROUP COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 3:30 p.m. Chairman Wright opened a Special Meeting to obtain <br />information from The Ferguson Group on the Federal Funding process for <br />I-90 projects. <br /> <br />Mr. Linbaugh, Ms. Schott and Ms. Moore representing The Ferguson Group <br />provided background information and their involvement with assisting <br />agencies with securing Federal loans and grants for projects. They <br />specialize in rural areas and counties and have extensive knowledge of <br />Congress and Administration to help achieve success. The steps they <br />follow to assist obtaining Grants include Identifying Local Priorities; <br />Opportunity Analysis; Strategically Position Projects; Grant Writing and <br />Organizing Political Support. Ms. Moore explained how there were many <br />grants available for projects through “Infragrants”. <br /> <br />The Board discussed the I-90 expansion project for a 3rd lane within <br />Kittitas County and the work that’s already been done by different <br />resources. The main concern was procuring the funding for this project <br />without using State funds. <br /> <br />The Board thanked everyone for their input and said they would reach out <br />to Mr. Linbaugh at The Ferguson Group for them to present a proposal to <br />the Board at a later date. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 4:13 p.m. <br /> KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD I KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON Taylor Crouch Cory Wright, Chairman
