COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS AUDITORIUM SPECIAL MEETING
MONDAY 2:00 P.M. DECEMBER 2, 2019
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett
Wachsmith; and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Heather Seibert, Finance
Officer; Jerry Pettit, Auditor; Dan Carlson, CDS Director; Steve
Panattoni, Corrections Commander; Darren Higashiyama, Operations
Commander; Sharrie McPherson, Fiscal Clerk; Judy Pless, Budget &
Finance Manager; and Amy Cziski, Treasurer; Ben Kokjer, Operations
Commander.
PUBLIC HEARING 2020 BUDGET COMMISSIONERS
At 2:00 p.m. CHAIRMAN WRIGHT opened a Public Hearing to consider
adoption of the 2020 budget.
JUDY PLESS, BUDGET & FINANCE MANAGER reviewed a balanced budget to
the Board of County Commissioners. She also reviewed several
projects that had been taken out of the proposed budget which had
been submitted by various Departments, along with some new
positions. It was noted that the proposed budget did not include
results of the recent wage survey.
There was discussion on proposed positions from Departments and
which ones to keep or remove. CHAIRMAN WRIGHT said he was not in
favor of funding any capital projects until the wage survey has been
looked at into further detail.
THERE WAS NO ONE IN ATTENDANCE REQUESTING TO TESTIFY AND THE RECORD REMAINED OPENED. COMMISSIONER WACHSMITH moved to continue the Public Hearing until
Tuesday December 3, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners
Auditorium for further review of the proposed 2020 budget, noting
the record was to remain open. COMMISSIONER OSIADACZ seconded.
Motion carried 3-0.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:42 p.m.
