COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
SPECIAL MEETING
TUESDAY 9:30 A.M. JANUARY 7, 2020
Board members present: Commissioner Cory Wright; Commissioner Brett
Wachsmith and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Mark Cook,
Public Works Director/Interim Engineer.
DISCUSSION PUBLIC FACILITIES AWARD PUBLIC WORKS
At 9:30 a.m. Commissioner Wright opened a Special Meeting to discuss
with County Staff the Public Facilities Awards.
Mark Cook, Public Works Director/Interim County Engineer presented
the Board with the COG recommendations that came from the COG
meeting on 12/18/2019. He reviewed the rankings and amounts as well
as the reasoning behind the amounts awarded. He stated that the
problem is they had two applications and funding that came forward
to be awarded on 11/5/2019 to Ellensburg Business Development
Authority dba Centerfuse and the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce
(approximately $152,000.00) and now with the additional funding the
recommendations from the COG are now overfunding what is available.
The Board discussed options and priorities moving forward.
The Board directed Director Cook to do a full audit on unclaimed
awards and see what that would do to the balance. Staff was directed
to schedule a Special Meeting for Friday January 10, 2020 at 2:00
p.m. to revisit the conversation.
