COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
SPECIAL MEETING
MONDAY 9:00 A.M. JANUARY 27, 2020
Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice-Chairman
Laura Osiadacz. Excused: Commissioner Cory Wright (attended from
9:45-9:57).
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Taylor
Crouch, Deputy Clerk I; Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board.
REGULAR MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened the Office Administration
meeting.
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County
vouchers & PAF’s. (Commissioner Wright was present for vouchers
only).
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence
Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week
ending January 24th, 2020.
LETTER REP. ORMSBY/REP. STOKESBARY COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Wachsmith moved to ratify a letter signed on 1/21/20 by
the Board to Representative Tim Ormsby, Chairman House
Appropriations Committee and Representative Drew Stokesbary, Ranking
Minority Member, House Appropriations Committee regarding support
for dedicated funding to improve Washington’s forests and
communities’ resilience to wildfire. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded.
Motion carried 2-0. (Commissioner Wright was absent)
ACKNOWLEDGE CITY OF ELLENSBURG COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Osiadacz moved to acknowledge a letter sent to the
County from City Manager John Akers Re: City Councilmembers
representation on various County Boards, Committee’s and Commissions
1/27/2020 MINUTES 2
and directed Staff to prepare a letter for Board signature. Chairman
Wachsmith seconded. Motion carried 2-0.
DISCUSSION PIO LETTER COMMISSIONERS
Item tabled.
The Board wanted more time to review Commissioner Wrights proposal.
Commissioner Wright requested that they send it out with whatever
edits they wanted to make.
DISCUSSION FACEBOOK WEEKLY POSTS COMMISSIONERS
The Board determined for the week of January 27, 2020 that they
would share on their Facebook a letter from the Board to Senator
Judy Warnick regarding the County’s Support for SB6352.
OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES
Each Commissioner may use this time to brief the Board on varying
topics and discussions they independently had throughout the
previous week.
