COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:50 A.M. FEBRUARY 3, 2020
Board members present: Commissioner Laura Osiadacz Commissioner
Cory Wright. Absent: Commissioner Brett Wachsmith.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Dan Carlson,
CDS Director.
REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD CDS
Dan Carlson, CDS Director presented/reviewed information and
requested that the Board consider increasing his already approved PT
Code Enforcement Tech to an FTE. He stated that there is no budget
impact for 2020.
Commissioner Osiadacz expressed concerns for bringing on Staff with
one-time savings. She stated that there is concern for another
recession and she doesn’t want to lay off employees because they
were hired with no plan for the future on how to fund them.
Commissioner Wright stated he was in support of funding the
position.
Commissioner Osiadacz asked that she have additional time to think
about it and have Director Carlson bring it forward for a full BoCC
discussion. She asked Staff when would be the most appropriate time
to do that.
Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II stated that the CDS
Study Session on 2/10/20 would be an appropriate time to have
further discussion.
