COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:00 A.M. FEBRUARY 24, 2020
Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice-Chairman Laura
Osiadacz & Commissioner Cory Wright.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Julie
Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the
Board I; Jerry Pettit, Auditor and Staff from HopeSource: Andrew
Lyons & Vickie Nesbit.
REGULAR MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened the Office Administration
meeting.
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County
vouchers & PAF’s.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence
Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week
ending February 21, 2020.
APPOINTMENT BRIDGET WOOD - PLAC COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Osiadacz moved to Appoint Bridget Wood to the Kittitas
County Public Lands Advisory Committee, for a three-year term
effective immediately and ending on January 1, 2023. Commissioner
Osiadacz seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
RESOLUTION YOUTH SPORTS CONTRACT COMMISSIONERS
ITEM PULLED AND MOVED TO 3-2-2020.
RESOLUTION 2020-028 ILA – ANIMAL SHELTHER COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve Resolution No. 2020-028, a
Resolution Authorizing Execution of an ILA for Animal Shelter

Services. Commissioner Wright seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
DISCUSSION FACEBOOK WEEKLY POSTS COMMISSIONERS
The Board determined for the week of February 24, 2020 that they
would share on their Facebook the County’s Coloring Contest for
National County Government Week; and Press Release’s regarding the
Lodging Tax Advisory Committee Grants and Homelessness & Affordable
Housing Committee Grants.
OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES
Each Commissioner may use this time to brief the Board on varying
topics and discussions they independently had throughout the
previous week.
Jerry Pettit, County Auditor announced that the County Auditor’s
Association is inviting County Auditor’s to sign on as a support for
the Fair Share Funding Bill and he wanted to first run it by the
BoCC.
Commissioner Osiadacz left at 9:30 a.m. for another scheduled
meeting.
EXECUTIVE SESSION COMMISSIONERS
At 9:31 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith announced the Board would recess
into Executive Session for 10 minutes to evaluate the qualifications
of an applicant for public employment or to review the performance
of a public employee. However, subject to RCW 42.30.140 (4),
discussion by a governing body of salaries, wages, and other
conditions of employment to be generally applied within the agency
shall occur in a meeting open to the public, and when a governing
body elects to take final action hiring, setting the salary of an
individual employee or class of employees, or discharging or
disciplining an employee, that action shall be taken in a meeting
open to the public. No action was anticipated.
At 9:41 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. No
action taken.
