COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM SPECIAL MEETING TUESDAY 8:30 A.M. FEBRUARY 18, 2020
Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice-Chair Laura
Osiadacz; and Commissioner Cory Wright.
Others: Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the Board I; Benjamin West,
Director of Airport Operations; Mark Cook, Public Works
Director/Interim Engineer; and 2 members of the public.
SPECIAL MEETING ONE-WEEK AIRPORT UPDATE COMMISSIONERS
At 8:30 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting to meet
with Benjamin West, the new Director of Airport Operations for a
one-week update.
Benjamin West, Director of Airport Operations updated the Board on
his first week on the job.
Mr. West informed the Board on the connections he was making in the
County with other staff as well as connections being made in the
community. Mr. West would like a closer relationship with the City
of Ellensburg than the historical relationships between the County
and City at the Airport.
Mr. West asked the Board to consider sending him to the Aviation
Conference in Seattle on February 22-23, 2020 to start networking.
The Board approved this request.
Staff was directed to schedule another follow-up meeting with Mr.
West and the Board.
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 a.m.
