reports from Staff on each Agenda item.
OTHER BUSINESS
Dan Carlson, CDS Director said he discussed an option to allow
for preapplication conferences to take place via telephone
instead of in person which is currently required by County Code.
He said he spoke with Deputy Prosecutor Neil Caulkins and he
indicated they could prepare a Resolution which would allow it
to take place via telephone instead of in person for a temporary
time. Commissioner Wright suggested evaluating the
preapplication process anyways. Director Cook and Director
Carlson agreed the process should be revisited anyways.
Val Barschaw, Clerk said she had previously requested that the
Maintenance Department install temporary plexiglass in their
office. She wanted her employees to have emotional assurance
that they are being heard. Chairman Wachsmith said they were
following Dr. Larson’s recommendation on how there is no need to
install temporary plexiglass in their office in response to the
COVID-19 virus. Ms. Barschaw felt there were health risks to
their employees. Commissioner Osiadacz questioned if she was
requesting plexiglass for safety reasons or due to COVID-19
because those were 2 different reasons. Ms. Barschaw said it was
due to the COVID-19 concerns at this time.
