COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM SPECIAL MEETING
THURSDAY 3:30 P.M. MARCH 12, 2020
Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, Vice-Chairman
Laura Osiadacz, and Commissioner Cory Wright.
Others: Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the Board I; Mark Cook,
Public Works Director/Interim County Engineer; Clay Myers, Sheriff;
and Patti Johnson, Solid Waste Director/Interim Maintenance
Director/Project Manager.
SPECIAL MEETING WEST PRECINT COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting to discuss
and plan for West Precinct options.
Clay Myers, Sheriff stated that he would like Search and Rescue to
be more Upper County oriented. It would allow for a quicker response
time, as many S&R calls come from Upper County.
There was discussion on different possible options that would allow
for a Sheriff presence in Upper County. It was suggested that more
outreach be done in Upper County communities.
The Board asked Sheriff Myers to develop the specific space
requirements that he would need and to share the requirements with
the Board, Mark Cook, Public Works Director/Interim Engineer, and
Patti Johnson, Solid Waste Director/Interim Maintenance
Director/Project Manager.
Meeting adjourned at 4:15 p.m.
