COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
FRIDAY 10:00 A.M. MARCH 27, 2020
Board members present: Cory Wright, Commissioner. Via Phone:
Chairman Brett Wachsmith and Vice-Chairman Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Via Phone: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board.
SPECIAL MEETING COVID-19 COMMISSIONERS
At 10:02 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened the Special Meeting for
planning and updates relating to COVID-19.
The Board discussed the overview from Sheriff Myer’s briefing and
there were concerns of people not being able to hear on Webex. Each
Commissioner provided information relating to projects they were
working on including economic recovery and available funding to
businesses.
There were concerns expressed about CDS not continuing to process
applications and their operations. Staff was directed to schedule a
meeting with the Board, Dan Carlson, CDS Director; Chris Horner,
Deputy Prosecutor; Lisa Young, Human Resource Director; and Greg
Zempel, Prosecutor.
Chairman Wachsmith provided a report on economic recovery and work
that’s being done within the County.
Commissioner Wright questioned what could be done to be a part of
the interface of the EOC for better communication and messaging
points for the new website. Commissioner Osiadacz said she’s been
receiving very good responses from the EOC whenever she’s had
questions and they’ve all been very helpful. Chairman Wachsmith
agreed and said they’ve been very responsive, despite how busy they
are.
Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board said Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk
of the Board I, would be responding to voicemail’s that are left and
she will triage their concerns to make sure they get in touch with
the appropriate Commissioner.
