04/17/2020 MINUTES 1
COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS AUDITORIUM SPECIAL MEETING FRIDAY 10:00 A.M APRIL 17, 2020

Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Via Phone: Vice-
Chairman Laura Osiadacz; and Commissioner Cory Wright.

Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Lisa Young, Human
Resources Director; Dr. Mark Larson, Public Health Official; and Via
Phone: Patti Johnson, Solid Waste Director/Interim Maintenance
Director/Project Manager.
SPECIAL MEETING PLANNING UPDATE/COVID-19 COMMISSIONERS
At 10:00 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting for the
Board to provide planning updates relating to COVID-19.

Patti Johnson, Solid Waste Director/Interim Maintenance
Director/Project Manager said they are beginning to prepare for
when County offices begin to open back up. She said they have
been taking measurements such as putting tape on the floors for
social distancing, etc. She said they are going to meet with each
office and discuss their needs. She said there will be a lot of
work to do to ensure things are prepared in time, including
addressing the larger meeting rooms such as the Courts and
Auditorium.

Lisa Young, Human Resources Director, reviewed the number of
employees who would be affected if the Stay At Home Order is
extended beyond May 4, 2020, and the Emergency Leave would run
out, and said it was better than originally anticipated. She is
going to work with Judy Pless, Budget & Finance Manager to see
what the difference and impact to the Rainy-Day fund would be
since the numbers have changed.

Dr. Mark Larson, Public Health Official, said he is encouraging
everyone to begin planning to move forward to re-opening,
although there is no timeframe for businesses at this point. He
described how things would begin to re-open in the same manner
they were closed. For instance, large gatherings would be the
last to re-open, as they were the first things to close.

Commissioner Wright said he is waiting for the Professional
Services Agreement with the Ferguson Group to be approved by the
Prosecutor’s office. He would like to have them talk to
Department’s on their needs. He also offered to work on a letter
