KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: April 21, 2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Award the Big Boulder <br />Bridge Procurement Contract to Contech Engineering <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Public Works completed Phase I of the Big Boulder Bridge <br />Replacement Project (CRP No. 296-18) summer of 2019. <br />Recently, Public Works solicited for bridge procurement of <br />the permanent sixty -foot structure. Contech Engineering <br />was the only bid responder. The returned bid package <br />failed to return the required "Bid Form" although a bid <br />bond was provided. Public Works suggests that the Board <br />waive the bid form irregularity and award the procurement <br />contract to Contech Engineering. The published engineer's <br />range was: $78,375 - $86,625. Contech Engineering's bid <br />is for: $75,969. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Award the Big Boulder Bridge procurement contract to <br />Contech Engineering for $75,969 <br />HANDLING: <br />Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Resolution <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Mark R.
