PROCLAMATION <br /> <br /> Child Abuse Prevention Month <br />April 2020 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, children are vital to our County’s future success, prosperity and quality of life and <br />are our most vulnerable assets; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, all children deserve to have safe, stable, nurturing homes and communities to <br />foster their healthy growth and development; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, child abuse and neglect affects both the current and future quality of life of a <br />community; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, communities help ensure that all children grow to their full potential by providing <br />parents with social support, knowledge of parenting and child development, and concrete <br />resources to help them nurture their children; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, effective child abuse prevention strategies succeed because of partnerships among <br />citizens, human service agencies, schools, faith communities, health care providers, civic <br />organizations, law enforcement agencies and the business community; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners proclaim April 2020 as <br />Child Abuse Prevention Month and call upon all citizens, community agencies, faith groups, <br />medical facilities, elected leaders and businesses in Kittitas County to participate in the efforts to <br />support families, thereby preventing child abuse and strengthening the communities in which we <br />live. <br /> Dated this 7th day of April, 2020. <br /> THE KITTITAS COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br /> <br /> Brett Wachsmith, Chairman <br /> <br /> <br /> Laura Osiadacz, Vice-Chairman <br /> <br /> <br /> Cory Wright, Commissioner <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board
