DEMONSTRATING THE BOARD OF'COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SUPPORT FOR THE
AID APPLICATION TO THE WASHINGTON STATE OF'F'ICE OF'COLUMBIA RIVER
FOR INITIAL HABITAT ACTIVITIES ALONG COUNTY OWNED PROPERTIES AND
AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OX'PUBLIC WORKS TO SIGN AND EXECUTE THE
AID APPLICATION
WHEREAS: Kittitas County Public Works intends to submit an Aid Application to the
Washington State Office of Columbia River for Yakima Basin Integrated Plan
Habitat funding; and
WHEREAS: The current anticipated total project funding is estimated to be $655,000; and
WHEREAS: On December l't, 2015, Kittitas County adopted the Yakima River Corridor Plan -
Jeffries Levee to Yakima Canyon Habitat Enhancement and Flood Risk Management;
and
WHEREAS: Kittitas County has acquired properfy within the YakimaRiver Coridor - Jeffries
Levee to Yakima Canyon for the purposes of flood risk management and habitat
enhancement; and
WHEREAS: This project is identified on the Flood Control Zone District Annual Work Plan.
NOW, THEREF'ORE BE IT RESOLVED the Kittitas Corurty Board of County Commissioners
declares it be in the best interest of the public and does hereby support the funding
request and authorizethe Director of Public Works to sign and execute the Aid
Application.
