WHEREAS, the Director of the Kittitas Valley Event Center (KVEC) has the authority to establish the various rates, discounts, packages, policies, and procedures governing the use ofthe KVEC;and WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners has the authority to ratify such decisions by resolution; and WHEREAS, KVEC has an interest in providing the facilities for the activities and events produced by Kittitas County 4-H Program as it holds a significant benefit to enhancing the leadership and development ofour local youth; and WHEREAS, those enhancements in tum directly impact and better the experiences of the annual Kittitas County Fair while also elevating the amount of youth participation; and WHEREAS, KVEC recommends offering waivers and discounts for rental fees for Kittitas County WSU Extension 4-H program events and adtivities held at the Kittitas Valley Event Center within the means of the attached contract agreement; and WHEREAS, these waivers and discounts of fees are pre-negotiated and agreed upon in a facility use contract with WSU Extension and approved by the Kittitas Valley Event Center Director; and WHEREAS, Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners determine this to be in the public interest of the community whereby the residents benefit from such actions; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas County, Washington, hereby adopts the Kittitas Valley Event Center event waivers and discounts for Kittitas County 4-H as described above and within the attached facility use agreement.
