BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESoLUflON NO. 2o2o- 0 33 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A CHANGE IN THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE <br />HOMELESSNESS AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING COMMITTEE. <br />WHEREAS, the Homelessness and Affordable Housing Committee (HAHC) was <br />combined from its component entities in 2008 by Resolution 2008-114; and <br />WHEREAS, the composition of the HAHC was set at eight members at that time; and <br />WHEREAS, the membership of the HAHC was composed as follows: one member from <br />the County, one from the City of Ellensburg, one homeless or formerly homeless person, <br />and five at-large members; and <br />WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the HAHC on January 31,2020 there was discussion <br />of the composition of the HAHC; and <br />WHEREAS, the discussion resulted in the conclusion that an additional stakeholder <br />representative from the Upper County should be on the HAHC due at least in part to an <br />apparent increase in the homeless population in that part of the County; and <br />WHEREAS, the members of the HAHC present at the meeting voted to change one <br />position to be a representative nominated by the Cities of Cle Elum, South Cle Elum, or <br />Roslyn; and <br />WHEREAS, this change requires the approval of the Kittitas County Board of County <br />Commissioners; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE lT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Kittitas County, Washington authorizes and directs that the composition <br />of the HAHC is modified from that currently existing as follows: One member shall be from <br />Kittitas County, a member of or nominated by the Kittitas County Board of County <br />Commissioners; one member shall be from the City of Ellensburg, a member of or <br />nominated by the Ellensburg City Council; one member from the City of Cle Elum, City of <br />South Cle Elum, or the City of Roslyn a member of or nominated by the Cle Elum City <br />Council, South Cle Elum City Council, or Roslyn City Council one homeless person or <br />formerly homeless person, and five at-large members. <br />FURTHER, at any time at which there is a vacancy on the HAHC, the Kittitas County <br />Board of County Commissioners shall advertise for applicants to fill the vacancy and shall <br />thereafter timely make appointments consistent with the above described composition of <br />the HAHC. PROVIDED, however, that no person may serve on the HAHC who is <br />RESOLUTION
