AGENDA DATE: March 3, 2020
ACTION REQUESTED: Approve Agreement for Operation of Carnival and Related Facilities at
the Kittitas County Fair
BACKGROUND: On January 4, 2020, the Event Center Director was notified by Davis
Amusements Cascadia, the Kittitas County Fair’s contracted carnival
company, that they were closing their doors for business indefinitely.
The Kittitas County Fair issued and published a Request for Proposals
for a new carnival to operate at the upcoming 2020 fair. Four (4) RFPs
were received and reviewed by a designated Review Committee. The
most qualified proposal belonged to Paul Maurer Shows, who has been
offered the job of serving as the carnival operator for the 2020 and 2021
Kittitas County Fair.

RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approving the agreement for the Operation of Carnival
and Related Facilities for the annual Kittitas County Fair.
