KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: February 18, 2020 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve Setting a Public Hearing to Consider a 1/10th of <br />1% Increase in Sales & Use Tax. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners held a <br />Special Meeting on February 5, 2020 to receive a <br />presentation on a proposal to increase the Sales & Use Tax <br />in Kittitas County by 1/10th of 1%, as authorized by RCW <br />82.14.460 for Chemical Dependency or Mental Health <br />Treatment Services or Therapeutic Courts. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: At the conclusion of the Special Meeting the Board of <br />County Commissioners directed Staff to set a Public <br />Hearing at their next Agenda Session to consider the <br />proposal. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve Setting a Public Hearing for Tuesday March 3, <br />2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Kittitas Valley Event Center in the <br />Armory Building to consider a proposal to increase the <br />Sales & Use Tax in Kittitas County by 1/10th of 1% as <br />authorized by RCW 82.14.460 for Chemical Dependency <br />or Mental Health Treatment Services or Therapeutic <br />Courts. <br /> <br />HANDLING: 1 – Clerk of the Board <br /> 1 – BOCC Staff to publish & post <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Public Hearing. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board. <br />
