AGENDA DATE: February 18, 2020
ACTION REQUESTED: Approve Setting a Public Hearing to Consider a 1/10th of
1% Increase in Sales & Use Tax.
BACKGROUND: The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners held a
Special Meeting on February 5, 2020 to receive a
presentation on a proposal to increase the Sales & Use Tax
in Kittitas County by 1/10th of 1%, as authorized by RCW
82.14.460 for Chemical Dependency or Mental Health
Treatment Services or Therapeutic Courts.
INTERACTION: At the conclusion of the Special Meeting the Board of
County Commissioners directed Staff to set a Public
Hearing at their next Agenda Session to consider the
proposal.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve Setting a Public Hearing for Tuesday March 3,
2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Kittitas Valley Event Center in the
Armory Building to consider a proposal to increase the
Sales & Use Tax in Kittitas County by 1/10th of 1% as
authorized by RCW 82.14.460 for Chemical Dependency
or Mental Health Treatment Services or Therapeutic
Courts.
