KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: February 18, 2020 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to publish a Notice of Funds Availability (NOFA) for Grant Applications in the amount of $400.000.00 to help address <br />local homeless priorities with Capital Project for Homeless Units utilizing the Homelessness fund. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Currently there is approximately $1,043,788.00 available in the Homelessness funds available to address the local homeless priorities. The Homeless and Affordable Housing <br />Committee met on January 31st, 2020 and voted to recommend the BOCC publish a NOFA in the amount of $400,000.00 to address local homeless priorities. The Board of County Commissioners <br />has primary responsibility for administration of the program, which funds are maintained by the County Auditor’s Office pursuant to RCW 36.22.179. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The Homeless and Affordable Housing Committee will review the grant applications and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. The BOCC will make the final <br />determination of the awards. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request the Board of County Commissioners to publish a Notice of Funds Available to address local homeless priorities with Capital Project for Homeless Units utilizing <br />the Homelessness fund in the amount of $400,000.00 The applications to be available February 20, 2020; online or can be picked up in the Commissioner’s Office.
