t',Kittitas County,Washington <br />e°"-BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERSKillilCOIYli <br />District One District Two District Three <br />Cory Wright Laura Osiadacz Brett Wachsmith <br />February 4,2020 <br />Dear Teachers, <br />Kittitas County is excited to once again be celebrating "National County Government Month"in <br />April.The Kittitas County Board of Commissioner's office will be recognizing this special <br />occasion by holding their annual coloring/drawing contest which will be open to all elementary <br />school children in grades K-5 and are residents of Kittitas County.The theme for this year's <br />coloring/drawing contest is "Looking Forward to My Future in Kittitas County". <br />The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners office will be judging all entries that are submitted <br />for the contest.There will be three entries selected for every class who participates in the contest <br />that most represents the theme.Those students will each win a season's pass to the 2020 Kittitas <br />County Fair scheduled for September 3 -September 7! <br />The entries will be displayed throughout the Kittitas County Courthouse beginning April 16' <br />through April 29th.Towards the conclusion of National County Government Month our office <br />will be contacting each school who participated in the contest to schedule a time for a County <br />Commissioner to either come into a teacher's classroom or assembly to present the awards.All <br />entries will be returned to the schools at the time of the award presentation. <br />Attached is a page that can be copied and distributed to each child in your class.Please be sure <br />that the students first name,school,grade,and teacher is printed at the bottom of the page prior <br />to returning them to our office.There is only one entry,per student allowed.All entries must be <br />returned to the Kittitas County Commissioner's office no later than Friday March 20,2020 by <br />5:00 p.m.at 205 West 5th <br />-Room 108 Ellensburg,WA 98926. <br />If you have any questions,please contact Julie Kjorsvik,Clerk of the Board at 962-7508.We are <br />looking forward to seeing the creativity from the children in Kittitas County.Thank you. <br />Sincerely, <br />THE KITTjTAS 'OlJNT OARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />Brett achs Chairman <br />Lägy)Osp .ice-Chairman <br />Cory Wright,Commissioner <br />Kittitas County Courthouse ·205 West 5thAvenue,STE 108 Ellensburg,WA 98926 <br />(509)962-7508 FAX (509)962-7679
